Ezequiel Cardenas is a singer/songwriter, actor, and content creator from southern California. Cardenas rose to prominence after appearing on Univision’s “La Banda,” a Spanish-language singing competition series created by Ricky Martin and Simon Cowell, where he and his twin brother were introduced to a global audience.
This versatile musician parlayed the attention he received on “La Banda” into an online fan base that follow the twins’ exploits online and who support them across their musical and entertainment careers.
The twins are fluently bilingual in Spanish and English and their musical tastes cross genres including Reggaeton, Latin Pop, Dance Hall, R&B, Trap, and Dance music.
Cardenas is a member of the BENlabs Creator Community where brands and creators are matched in authentic brand integrations and partnerships. He took a little time to answer our Q&A interview questions.
Q&A WITH EZEQUIEL CARDENAS
Q: Can you tell us a little about how you got started with content creation?
I got started on content creation in 2014, creating vlogs and posting challenges on YouTube with my twin brother.
Q: How did you find your audience?
I initially found my audience mostly through posting on YouTube and being a part of a TV show on Univision called “La Banda,” which was produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin. From there, I’ve expanded to Instagram and other social media platforms.
Q: How do you connect to them?
I connect with my audience mostly through creating music and posting relatable content. I’m very active on Reels and TikTok, along with daily IG Stories to keep my audience looped in to what I’ve got going on in my life.
Q: What is the most exciting campaign/partnership you’ve ever done?
The most exciting campaign I’ve worked on recently was with BENlabs in partnership with 1800 Tequila at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas. I hosted interviews with artists on the red carpet and had an amazing experience sharing that with my audience as well as fans of the brand. As a musician and someone who loves 1800, it was a perfect alignment and a natural fit for me.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start creating?
My advice to someone who wants to start content creating is to be as authentic and fully yourself as possible. It’s cool to find inspiration in other content creators, but always add your spin to it. Most importantly consistency is key!
